The Nasiyan Digambar Jain Temple
is located in Ajmer (Rajasthan) on Prithviraj Marg. It is also popularly known as the 'Red Temple'.
Visitors can access the temple with the local transport system
easily from many parts of the city.
The Nasiyan Digambar Jain temple is one of the finest Jain temples in Rajasthan after the temples of Ranakpur and Mount Abu
whose splendor surpasses even the Mughal architecture. Nasiyan Jain Temple was
started to built from 1864 AD and completed in 1895 AD. The temple is dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankara
Rishabhadev.
The temple is a double story structure has a big hall at its second
story. The hall contains series of large, gilt wooden
figures depicting the Jain mythology. The artifact reflects the ancient world with a Jainism perception.
There is a beautiful
museum attached with the temple.
The first floor of the temple popularly called as Swarna Nagari
hall houses one of the most astonishing architectural creations of the Universe in the version of Jainism which also constitutes of gold plate replicas of every Jain temples of the country.
It is estimated that nearly 1000 kg of gold has been used in the construction of the marvel depicting panorama from Jain mythology, and of the ancient towns of Ayodhya and
Prayag. |
